Fortunately, and despite Brexit, there are bilateral agreements between the UK and Spain that minimize the impact of customs duties and processes. One of these agreements between the two countries regulates the exemption from the application of import taxes. To be exempt from these taxes, a REX number is required, which obviously Jubo Padel has and states on its invoices for the UK. REX is the system of certification of origin of goods that applies in the Generalised System of Preference (GSP)
Then, there is a fixed fee for the export procedures handled by a customs agent, which is around 125 euros and is already included in the freight costs. On the other hand, we have the import, which must be processed by the client. Here, as with the export, it is recommended to use a customs agency to deal with the (complexity of an) import. As it is a non-governmental entity, the costs may vary depending on the location and the agency.
VAT: We do not invoice with VAT. For this topic, I recommend you to inform yourself regarding the use of PVA (Postponed Import VAT Accounting), which allows a business to import its goods without any import VAT payment. Instead, the importer can have their goods cleared through UK customs and then account for the import VAT via its VAT returns – rather than at the point that goods are imported into the UK.
Jubo Padel, in due course, will provide all the necessary documentation to facilitate the import process.
